Space Transport Commander

My entry for the 7th GoedWare Game Jam. 

 The theme was: "ALTERNATE REALITY | TIME IS POWER"

 I converted that theme in an speed survival action game 😁.

Story

The Klalan have declared war on the Solar Planets Union. They are attacking the colonies to seize them. It's up to you, as captain of a Space Transport ship, to get the troops to the besieged colonies at the the front in time to turn the tide of this war.

Goal

Gget troops from the garrison on Earth (Terra) to the front where they are desperately needed in time. This can be done via normal space but also via hyperspace. Travelling there is a lot faster, but also a lot more dangerous! It's an alternate dimension full of ominous demons but it can save you travel time. Do you take the gamble.

Controls

Movement: WAD or Arrow keys

Attack: Spacebar

Hyperspace/Normal space: Shift

Pause Game: Escape 

Gameplay

• The colored zones around a planet indicates a load/unload troops are
• Terra is the planet where you can load your troops
• Green zones are under attack and need troops to be unloaded
• Your cargo hold will show space marines when you fly through a loading zone
• The blue arrow points towards Terra
• The red/purple arrow points towards the planet in immediate danger
• The blue outer circle bottom left is your shield power. It regenerates over time.
• The inner circle is you health. If your health is zero..you lose..
• You get XP points when you complete a mission or destroy opponents. When the XP bar is full you get a bonus (speed, shield, weapon)
• In Hyperspace you travel faster, but it has more opponents that want to get you
• Try to go to Hyperspace near an Alien Capital Ship (the big ones)...

Tip

You can also just fly around and find some fun locations in SPU space.
