Story

Freshly promoted and thrust into the captain's chair, you now command a UNS starship on its maiden voyage.

The bridge is your domain. Tactical displays flicker. Engineering reports cascade. Communications chime. Every console demands your attention.

Command the ship. Never leave the bridge.

Game Jam Entry

Captain's Chair was created for GoedWare Game Jam #15 with the theme "One Room".

We interpreted this theme by placing you entirely within a starship's bridge, the command center where every critical decision is made. You never leave this single room. Instead, the entire game unfolds through the consoles, viewscreens, comms and station interfaces surrounding the captain's chair. The bridge becomes your whole world as you manage an entire vessel from one location, embodying the theme of commanding everything from a single, confined space.

PS: About This Prototype

This is a prototype build created during the game jam. I'll admit: I overscoped quite a bit๐Ÿ˜…! However, I managed to complete a few missions that showcase the core concept of commanding a starship from the bridge.

This build demonstrates the idea and gameplay loop. I'd love to hear your feedback on the concept and whether this "one-room starship command" experience resonates with you.

Tip: Let dialogue sequences play out completely to avoid bugs. It's a game jam build and some rough edges remain! ๐Ÿ˜Š

* I can not win any prices during the Game Jam as Host, but I would appreciate any feedback on the game๐Ÿ˜Š!

Thank you to everyone who participated in this GoedWare Game Jam!

Hosting a jam, promoting it, managing it, answering every question in the community, and somehow also finding time to participate and make a full game for it as well echoes some serious dedication and time management - well done ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks so much for the kind words๐Ÿ˜Š! I really appreciate it. Hosting the jam, taking part myself, and seeing what everyone creates and how they grow between jams is always a joy.

Time management, though… letโ€™s just say that was the real final boss for this prototype. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Still, I did my best and had a great time making it. ๐Ÿ˜Š
