My entry for the GoedWare Game Jam Limited Color Palette Edition.  
The theme was: "TWO POINTS OF VIEW".

I tried to convert that into a shooter flight game were you need to switch between 2 views: The front and rear view. Made the prototype in 8 days.

Story

A long time from now, in our Milky Way galaxy…

-- THE KASSIA RUN --

The Kassia system, a haven for pirates,  is ruled by the ruthless Pirate King. Deep within his vault lies the Nexus Core,  a relic of unimaginable power.  

But one daring smuggler has stolen it,  and now the galaxy's most dangerous pirates are in hot pursuit.

The only escape is through the infamous Kassia Run—a treacherous path filled with asteroids, traps, and relentless enemies.  

Can the smuggler survive the chase, defeat the Pirate King, and deliver the Nexus Core to safety?  

The race for survival begins now...

Controls

• Movement: Arrow keys or 'WASD'
• Fire: Left Mouse Button
• Switch Weapon: Right Mouse Button or 'Q'
  
• Switch Views: Spacebar
• Pause: Escape
  

Gameplay Description

• Dual View Gameplay: Switch between navigating dangerous asteroid fields and defending your ship with a rear turret.
• Resource Management: Balance your shields, energy, and weaponry to survive.
• Dynamic Combat: Face relentless waves of pirate ships, each more challenging than the last.
• Power-ups: Collect power-ups to replenish energy, missiles, and shields
• Boss Battle: Confront the Pirate King’s flagship, the Blackfang, in a final fight for survival.

Prototype

The game is just a prototype. Not everything works as expected and planned. Time constraints of a game jam 😊. For example balancing the game and power-ups and enemies...! Still hope you enjoy the effort!!
